FBI Investigating Alleged Assassination Attempt on Trump in Florida

Ryan Wesley Routh, the suspected gunman in an alleged second assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump, has been described by his son, Oran Routh, as someone who disliked Trump but was not violent. In an interview with the Daily Mail, Oran expressed disbelief that his father could be involved in such an act, despite his known dislike for Trump, which Oran noted "as every reasonable person does."

Oran emphasized that his father had never been involved in serious trouble before, aside from "a couple of traffic tickets." He found the accusations shocking, stating, "I know my dad and love my dad, but that's nothing like him."

According to Oran, his father had been living in Hawaii for several years with his longtime girlfriend and was not known for violent behavior. "He's a hard worker and a great dad. He's a great dude, a nice guy," Oran said, expressing confusion about the anticipating.

Authorities allege that Ryan Routh positioned himself about 300 to 500 yards away from Trump while the former president was golfing, and attempted to fire a rifle through a chain-linked fence. Secret Service agents intervened, firing on Routh before he fled the scene. He was quickly apprehended, and Trump was rushed to safety after the incident, which occurred just one hole away from where the former president was playing.
