Jamal Musiala Scores Stunning Solo Goal as Germany Thrash Hungary 5-0 to Open UEFA Nations League Campaign in Düsseldorf
Jamal Musiala was the star of the show as Germany cruised to a 5-0 victory over Hungary, kicking off their UEFA Nations League campaign in style. Alongside Musiala's brilliant solo effort, Niclas Füllkrug, Florian Wirtz, Aleksandar Pavlovic, and Kai Havertz also found the back of the net on a dominant night for Julian Nagelsmann’s side.
Germany applied pressure from the outset. After a goal-line clearance by Liverpool's Dominik Szoboszlai and Niclas Füllkrug's missed one-on-one chance, the West Ham striker quickly made up for it by tapping in from close range to give the hosts the lead.
Kai Havertz came close to doubling Germany's advantage twice before halftime. His powerful strike hit the bar but failed to cross the line, and moments later, he curled a shot just wide.
Germany eventually added a second goal after an hour of play. Florian Wirtz found Musiala near the halfway line, and the Bayern Munich sensation drove through the Hungarian defense, holding off two defenders before slotting the ball into the net.
With momentum building, Musiala turned provider, assisting Wirtz for Germany’s third goal, which the young playmaker squeezed past goalkeeper Péter Gulácsi. Pavlovic added a fourth goal, and Havertz rounded off the scoring with a well-taken penalty, sealing a commanding win and a perfect start for Germany in the Nations League.
