Music mogul Sean "Diddy" Combs was arrested in New York

Music mogul Sean "Diddy" Combs, who has faced multiple sexual assault lawsuits and a federal human trafficking investigation over the past year, has been arrested, his attorney told CNN.

Combs, who had been in New York City since last week, was taken into custody Monday evening at the Park Hyatt Hotel on 57th Street in Manhattan by Homeland Security Investigations. The arrest occurred at approximately 8:15 p.m., according to a source familiar with the situation.

The exact charges and details of the case remain unclear at this time.

Negotiations for Combs’ surrender had been ongoing, and a sealed indictment was voted on Monday, the source said.

“We are disappointed with the decision to pursue what we believe is an unjust prosecution of Mr. Combs by the U.S. Attorney’s Office,” said Combs' attorney, Marc Agnifilo, in a statement to CNN.

Combs' legal team emphasized that he has been fully cooperating with the investigation, voluntarily relocating to New York last week in preparation for these charges. They maintain his innocence, stating that he has "nothing to hide."
