Deion Sanders on Colorado's Loss to Nebraska: 'We Never Got It Together

Colorado head coach Deion Sanders didn't mince words following his team's defeat against Nebraska. "We never got it together," Sanders said, reflecting on a game where his team struggled on both sides of the ball. The Buffaloes, who had shown promise earlier in the season, couldn't find their rhythm against a disciplined Nebraska squad, leading to a frustrating performance. Despite the setback, Sanders remained optimistic, emphasizing the need to learn from the experience and regroup for the upcoming challenges.

LINCOLN, Neb. — After suffering their first loss of the season and posting their second-lowest scoring output under head coach Deion Sanders, Colorado was left searching for answers.

The Buffaloes were shut out in the first half and managed just 16 rushing yards in a 28-10 defeat to Nebraska on Saturday night. Colorado (1-1) struggled to protect quarterback Shedeur Sanders, who was under pressure throughout the game, and their offense never found its rhythm.

Falling behind early, Colorado trailed 14-0 when Shedeur Sanders threw a costly interception from his own end zone, which Nebraska’s Tommi Hill returned for a touchdown. Colorado’s offense managed only 11 plays for a net of -2 yards in the first quarter.

"The way we started is just not who we are," said Deion Sanders. "We never got it together."
